Branch Library Proposal

Reimagining a modern Boston Public Library branch as a community fixture in South Boston. Ramped floor slabs draw in users and transition them from community meeting spaces to multimedia/computer areas to traditional bookshelves at the very top. The proposal includes three distinct lightwells to reach through the building with diffused light and the roof is a series of operable louvers to increase lighting control of this urban site sandwiched between buildings.
